12 Surprising Health Benefits of Lemon Water You Wish You Knew

What’s the first thing you do every morning?  Is it something constructive?  Is it something that will improve your health?  Is it something that will set you up for the best day possible?  Now is the time you take charge of your life!

I start EVERY morning with a glass of warm lemon water.

It doesn’t matter where I wake up, I could be across the planet, I still start my day with warm lemon water and here’s why…

1.  Boosts your immune system and fights infections.

Lemon juice is packed with tons nutrients, vitamins, and minerals such as vitamin C, B-complex, calcium, iron, magnesium, and potassium.

  • Vitamin C and iron fight colds and infections.
  • Potassium improves your heart health, reduces blood pressure, and stimulates your brain and nerve functions.
  • Saponins (a class of chemical compounds) exhibit antimicrobial properties that fight infections such as sore throats and respiratory problems.

Lemon juice aids digestion by loosening toxins in your digestive track and helping the liver produce bile, a necessary component to breakdown fat.  Lemon juice is also known to relieve symptoms such as heartburn, intestinal gas, burping, and bloating.

Begin each morning with one glass of warm water and the juice from half a lemon.  Make this the first thing you do every morning!  Do this before you eat or drink anything else.  This is the one time of the day that your digestive system is completely pure.  Think of it as a lemon juice bath for your insides 🙂 Make sure to use warm (not hot, nor cold) water, as extreme temperatures are difficult for your body to regulate and therefore cause extra work on your digestive system.
