Have you been to Juicery Rx in Coral Springs yet? Its menu is truly a prescription for healthy living serving up juices, smoothies, salad bowls, gluten-free desserts and more. When you’re in between activities, stop in for a fresh refuel. Or, if you’d rather cool down at home, you can replicate one of Juicery Rx’s tasty concoctions at home. My pick is the Hippocrates juice made from basil, apple, cucumber and lemon. Juicery Rx, 5910 Coral Ridge Drive | 954.752.6069 |

Red, White & Blue Smoothie

There is no better way enjoy a celebration than with festive food. The 4th of July is the perfect holiday to get crafty with your meals and snacks. Next month, try this simple 3-step smoothie recipe for a nutritious treat that you and your family will love:

For each layer, you’ll need:

  1. Red: a handful of frozen strawberries, 1 banana and ½ cup coconut water
  2. White: 1 frozen banana, 1 fresh banana, 1 date, ½ cup coconut water and a dash of cinnamon
  3. Blue: a handful of frozen blueberries and 1 banana

Blend ingredients for each color individually, rinsing in between layers. Pour into a classy glass and garnish with all the berries you desire (the kids will love this part) and drink up. Cheers!
