How To Make Quick & Easy Healthy Pita Chips

Looking for a way to make HEALTHY chips?  Check out this super SIMPLE recipe below!  These healthy pita chips can be modified to meet YOUR dietary needs such as low calorie, gluten free, vegan, etc.– don’t worry, the recipe will tell you how!

I love to pair these chips with hummus, but they are also fabulous with our WORLD FAMOUS guacamole!  I don’t use those words lightly… our guac is the sh*t!

Pita Chips

There’s no need for over priced and over processed pita chips…just make your own!  These homemade pita chips are quick, easy, and made specifically for you!


  • Pre-made pita bread (refer to notes)
  • Olive oil / cooking spray
  • Garlic salt (if desired)


  1. Preheat toaster oven (or traditional oven) to 350 degrees.
  2. Pull apart each pita pocket to create two pita circles.
  3. Cut each circle into 6 pieces (similarly to a pizza pie), lightly coat with olive oil or spray with cooking spray, and sprinkle with garlic salt (or other desired seasoning).
  4. Cook in toaster oven (or regular oven) for 10 minutes or until crispy.  That’s it!


Whole Foods sells TONS of pita breads. I buy the mini 80 calorie 100% Stone Ground Whole Wheat pitas (one ingredient), but they also have gluten-free options and sprouted grain options (Ezekiel 4:9).
